About Lee Walker
After combining an undergraduate degree in theology (ThB) and a master’s degree in business (MBA), Lee has served in two long tenured positions. For 29 years he was on the faculty and staff of Appalachian Bible College (Mt. Hope, WV) moving through a variety of increasingly responsible roles including stints as the functional equivalents of COO, CFO and CDO (Chief Development Officer). For the last 15 years at the College he served as Executive Vice President.
Lee also partnered with a medical doctor to author and market an entire software suite called DOCS to facilitate the practice management needs of small to medium sized medical offices. At its height, DOCS was used in 23 practices in Southern WV.
Subsequently Lee was invited to join the staff of Bible Center Church (Charleston, WV) which became, at one time, the largest church in the state. This ministry encompassed a broad range of programs including a flourishing private school including preschool through eighth grade.
In this environment, which included over 100 employees and an annual budget of more than $6 million, he served in a variety of positions until ultimately being appointed Executive Pastor. Like his experience at the College, his responsibilities at the church included the functional equivalents of COO, CFO and CDO.
One of his most significant contributions was providing leadership in a $26 million project to relocate the church. This project included finding and purchasing 96 acres of prime real estate, working with architects and engineers to develop the land and design the building, arranging bank financing, and conducting two back to back capital campaigns which raised $11 million.
In recent years Lee has assisted churches with capital campaigns, financial analysis and administrative audits. Further he has continued working as requested at the Church, filling in for one year as Principal of the school and, most recently, as Director of Business and Development.
Lee and his wife, Marty, reside in Cross Lanes, WV and enjoy visiting their scattered family including five children and seventeen grandchildren.
